The winter patron saint festivities, Santa Eulàlia, will coincide with Carnival in Barcelona starting on Thursday, February 12, 2026, creating a long weekend full of cultural and popular events.

The day of the minor patron saint will be concentrated in the Gòtic district, starting with the traditional parade of the giantess Laia. The highlight will be the Passejada de les Laies, an exclusive parade of giantesses leaving the Palau de la Virreina and ending at Plaça Sant Jaume.
Carnival will play a prominent role. The Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB) announced that the Carnival Hereu and Borda giants will perform their traditional Arribo dance in Ciutat Vella, followed by a Carnival 'taronjada' (orange shower) in Plaça Sant Jaume. Simultaneously, the Arribo of King Carnestoltes will be decentralized to the Sants neighborhood.

It will be a unique parade that will bring together a large part of the festive elements documented to have participated in the 1601 Canonization Festivities of Sant Ramon de Penyafort.

The festive weekend will culminate with an unprecedented activity to celebrate the 425th anniversary of the legendary Gegants del Pi. This special parade will tour the Gòtic from Plaça del Pi to Plaça Sant Jaume, where the Banda Simfònica Roquetes - Nou Barris will close the program with a large-format concert.
The program also includes the Diada Castellera gathering the eight local human tower groups in Plaça Sant Jaume on Sunday, in addition to historical routes, concerts, and the traditional Correfoc on Saturday at Plaça Reial.
