The renowned Italian luxury appliance brand, Smeg, will soon open its first official store in Spain, located in the heart of Barcelona, on Passeig de Gràcia.

The Italian brand Smeg, known for its retro-inspired 1950s aesthetic appliances, has chosen Barcelona to house its first flagship store in Spain. According to information from the real estate portal Idealista, the new establishment will span nearly 500 square meters and will be located at number 127 of the Jardins de Salvador Espriu, known as Jardinets de Gràcia, a strategic location between Avinguda Diagonal and Passeig de Gràcia.
This opening marks a significant shift in Smeg's strategy in the Spanish market, where it has previously operated mainly through distributors and multi-brand points of sale. The new store will not be a conventional retail outlet but an experiential space designed to function as a showroom and a meeting point for design professionals and brand enthusiasts.
The establishment will feature areas dedicated to both large and small domestic appliances, including iconic products such as its retro-style coffee makers, toasters, and refrigerators. The location in the Jardinets de Gràcia area reinforces Barcelona's position as an epicenter for design and interiorism, increasingly attracting international firms looking to establish their showrooms there.
The transformation of the Diagonal-Passeig de Gràcia axis into a hub for high-end design is evident with the growing presence of companies in the sector. Retail sector reports indicate that approximately one in four premises in this area is already specialized in home decoration, furniture, or equipment, creating an ecosystem focused on brand experience.
