The railway company SNCF has announced a reinforcement of its high-speed service departing from Barcelona, including more frequencies to Paris and the resumption of the direct route to Malaga.

During the summer period, specifically between July 4 and August 30, the operator will offer three daily round trips between the Catalan capital and Paris. This service expansion will continue on weekends from September 5 to November 1, 2026, with the aim of facilitating mobility during the final stretch of summer and the beginning of autumn.
The journey, which lasts an average of 6.49 hours and covers about 1,080 kilometers, makes stops in Girona, Figueres, Perpinyà, Narbona, Besiers, Agde, Seta, Montpeller, Nimes, and Valença, before arriving at the Gare de Lyon.
On the other hand, SNCF has confirmed the resumption of direct high-speed service between Barcelona and Malaga, without the need for a transfer. This connection, which includes stops in Zaragoza, Madrid, and Cordoba, will be operational from Friday to Monday between July 20 and September 6.
At the same time, the Paris-Barcelona line service operated by RENFE remains suspended. The company announced last April that the interruption is due to the lack of necessary homologations for its trains in France.
