Barcelona City Council has released a report confirming the success of the Eixample green axes, where walking and socializing now account for 60% of daily activity.

The study conducted by Urban Strategy Services on February 2 examines the transformation of Consell de Cent, Rocafort, Borrell, and Girona streets. Data shows a radical shift: in 2020, 77% of pedestrians were just passing through, whereas now most users stay to rest, talk, or exercise.

"Why is the rule enforced in Portal de l'Àngel but not in the green axes?"

Despite the positive social impact, neighbors complain about traffic indiscipline. The report shows that delivery vehicles overwhelm available parking spaces. Regarding safety, 20 minor accidents were recorded in 2023, despite the high volume of bicycles and pedestrians.
