The Meteorological Service of Catalonia has issued weather warnings for Montsià and nineteen other regions due to the arrival of Storm Regina this Thursday, March 5th.

After a brief period of calm, Catalonia is bracing for a significant weather shift. Storm Regina is moving northwards across the peninsula, bringing a classic 'llevantada' pattern characterized by heavy coastal rain and powerful winds.
In the Montsià district, authorities have raised high-level alerts for sea conditions, with waves expected to exceed 2.50 meters. While rainfall in the south will be moderate, northern mountainous areas such as Alt Empordà and Osona could see accumulations surpassing 100 mm within 24 hours.
Wind gusts are also expected to reach speeds of over 20 m/s in the Barcelona metropolitan area and central coast. Meteocat predicts that these hazardous conditions will persist until at least Friday afternoon, advising citizens to avoid coastal areas and riverbeds.
