The Meteocat weather service has warned of a shift in conditions across Catalonia starting this Wednesday, as storm Therese approaches from the Atlantic, bringing clouds and rain.

After a brief period of stable and sunny weather, a maritime flow from the east is entering the region. This change will bring cooler air to the Mediterranean coast and increase the chance of light showers, particularly in the northeastern districts and the northern third of the territory.
In Barcelona, maximum temperatures are expected to settle around 17ºC, while Girona and Tarragona will see highs of 18ºC. Meanwhile, a yellow warning is in place for the Empordà region due to dangerous sea conditions, with waves potentially reaching 2.5 meters.
By Thursday, cloud cover will increase significantly, and a moderate drop in temperatures is expected across most of the region. The Pyrenees will experience a more sharp decline, with light frosts likely before conditions stabilize again on Friday.
