Approximately 22,000 people took to the streets of Barcelona this March 8th, 2026, to mark International Women's Day and protest against the rise of far-right anti-feminist rhetoric in Europe.

The main march in Barcelona started at Jardinets de Gràcia and concluded at Arc de Triomf. Local police, the Guàrdia Urbana, confirmed the attendance figures for the first of several planned rallies in the city. Similar protests were held in Girona, Lleida, and Tarragona, focusing on anti-racist and anti-capitalist feminist struggles.

"We must stop using feminism as an excuse to start wars."
