This morning, approximately one thousand people camped overnight near La Farga with the aim of obtaining essential documents for the extraordinary regularization of migrants: the registration certificate and the vulnerability report. The L'Hospitalet City Council has centralized these procedures at the Citizen Attention Office (OAC).
Given the high demand, which according to municipal sources could affect some 27,000 migrants residing in the city, the city council has implemented a special arrangement. Starting today, Monday, April 20, 2026, and until April 30, an additional space has been set up within the La Farga exhibition center to expedite assistance.
Access to this new service point will be via Carrer de Barcelona. Opening hours will be from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM today, Monday, and from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM from Tuesday to Friday. Queues will be organized inside La Farga Centre d'Activitats, ensuring that people do not have to wait outdoors and have access to facilities such as restrooms. Service will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
Once this special arrangement concludes on April 30, citizen services will be reinforced at both the regular OACs and the district offices, extending until June 30, which marks the end of the extraordinary regularization process.
It is important to remember that the registration certificate and other municipal procedures can be easily carried out online through the City Council's Electronic Headquarters, using idCAT Mòbil for immediate retrieval. It can also be requested by phone by calling 010 (or 900 100 277 from outside the municipality), with the proof of registration sent to the registered address within approximately 2 or 3 working days.
This extraordinary regularization is aimed at migrants in an irregular situation or international protection applicants in Spain who arrived before January 1, 2026. An appointment is required, and the Ministry reminds that in-person appointments are free. Among the requirements, applicants must provide a criminal record certificate from their country of origin or from countries of residence during the five years prior to their arrival in Spain.
