This decision, resulting from an agreement between the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Barcelona City Council, and the Tour organization, implies a significant change to the original route. The modification will be applied at kilometer 123 of the stage, after passing through Molins de Rei.
Cyclists will continue along the N-340 and enter Barcelona via Esplugues, proceeding along the Collblanc road in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat to Plaça Espanya, where they will rejoin the initial route. This adjustment will ensure public presence throughout the journey and will reduce the stage length from 182.4 to 168.4 kilometers.
The Grand Départ Barcelone 2026 will consist of three stages. The first day, July 4, will be a team time trial starting from Parc Fòrum and finishing at the Olympic Stadium of Montjuïc. The second stage, on July 5, will conclude at Montjuïc Castle, and the third, on July 6, will depart from Granollers towards the French town of Les Angles. The official presentation of the participating teams will take place in Barcelona on July 2.
