The interruption of the rail service has forced hundreds of people to resort to buses, significantly extending travel times. Nil, a young man from Montblanc, had to transfer in Valls and Tarragona to reach the Catalan capital, a journey that took him over four hours, double the normal time, calling the situation “a headache.”
“"The information from Renfe is scarce; I have informed myself through Twitter news."
Many travelers, such as Rubén Moral, who was returning to Barcelona after visiting his family, expressed frustration over the difficulty in obtaining clear data about transport alternatives. Moral also denounced that the state of the railway infrastructure is not adequate, pointing out that users always end up paying the consequences of the lack of investment and constant incidents.
Another passenger, Marc, who had spent the day in Tarragona, also opted for the bus and regretted the extended journey. Nevertheless, he prioritized safety and supported waiting until the inspections are completed, despite the inconvenience for workers.
“"If they have to take three or four days, let them take them, even if it's a nuisance for people who have to go to work, but safety comes first."
Given the increased demand, the company Plana, one of the operators in the area, confirmed that it has reinforced the service on the Costa Daurada-Barcelona Airport-Barcelona city line with an additional coach for each route since this morning.
