Former Barcelona mayor Xavier Trias has expressed his support for Jordi Martí Galbis in the Junts primaries to select the candidate for Barcelona's mayoralty. On Friday night, shortly before voting began, Trias released a video urging party members to place their "full" trust in Martí Galbis, whom he considers "the ideal person to be the mayor of this city".
In the social media message, Trias emphasized the need to choose someone with "knowledge of the city" and "leadership and consensus-building capacity," attributes he assigns to Martí Galbis. "He loves Barcelona and loves its people," stated the former mayor, announcing his vote for Martí Galbis and expressing the hope that "Junts will win Barcelona again".

"És la persona ideal per ser l’alcalde d’aquesta ciutat. S’estima Barcelona i s’estima la seva gent. Jo votaré Jordi Martí. Junts tornarem a guanyar Barcelona!"

Martí Galbis is competing for the mayoral candidacy against journalist Pilar Calvo, lawyer Jaume Alonso-Cuevillas, and deputy Glòria Freixa. The online voting commenced on Saturday at 10:00 AM and will conclude on Sunday at 7:00 PM.
Trias addressed voters "from one member to another," praising Martí Galbis for his "capacity to build consensus" and for "listening to people." The relationship between the two dates back to when Martí Galbis served as Trias's chief of staff during his tenure as a Catalan government minister, and later as a councillor for Presidency and Sants-Montjuïc during Trias's municipal administration. After Trias left the City Council, Martí Galbis took over as president of the municipal group.
