Unió Esportiva Sant Andreu has achieved the long-awaited promotion to Primera RFEF, two decades after their last home celebration, defeating Reus 2-1 in a decisive match at Narcís Sala.

The 'quadribarrat' team secured its return to the bronze category of Spanish football in front of 6,500 fans at its stadium. This success comes a year after the painful elimination against Rayo Majadahonda, which thwarted the promotion aspirations of the team then managed by Xavi Molist.
The return of Natxo González to the bench, who was involved in the club's last promotion, has been key to the team's transformation. Despite his absence in the decisive match due to recovering from a heart attack, the players demonstrated their strength, consolidating themselves as one of the most dominant teams in the second half of the season, with a streak of nine consecutive victories.

"This Sunday we will try to make it the day, but this team has earned the right to make some mistakes."

the Sant Andreu assistant coach
The promotion to Primera RFEF represents a fundamental step for the club's new ownership, which aims to bring Sant Andreu to professional football. This milestone is part of a professionalization project that includes improving facilities and strengthening the social aspect of the entity, which has already doubled its membership in two years.
Now, the pressure falls on the City Council, owner of the Narcís Sala stadium. The RFEF requires natural grass and other adaptations that would involve an investment of close to half a million euros. The councilor for the Sant Andreu district has called for prudence before making decisions, despite the inflexibility shown by the federation in similar cases. One of the options being considered is temporary relocation to Can Dragó, a decision that generates debate due to the limited capacity of this field compared to the club's large social base.
