The blaze broke out around 4:30 PM within the industrial estate, near the port of Barcelona. The smoke plume was noticeable for kilometers and from nearby towns around the Catalan capital.
A unit from the Barcelona Fire Department was dispatched to the scene to extinguish the flames. By around 5:00 PM, emergency teams were still working on the fire, and the smoke was no longer visible over the city.
El fuego se ha declarado en torno a las 16:30 horas en la calle número 3 con la calle E, dentro del polígono industrial de la Zona Franca. El punto donde se hallaba la furgoneta que ha ardido se sitúa a escasos metros del puerto de Barcelona.
