The sports pavilion of Vilobí d'Onyar will host the XV Caixabank U23 Wheelchair Basketball Spanish Championship on June 27-28, a key event for adapted sports.

The wheelchair basketball (BCR) competition reaches its fifteenth edition with the goal of increasing visibility for this Paralympic discipline and attracting a large number of spectators to the stands.
The rules of BCR are similar to conventional basketball, with the only difference being that players must dribble or pass the ball after two pushes of the chair. Each participant has a functional classification between 1.0 and 4.5 points, and in the 5x35 format, the total sum of points for players on the court cannot exceed 14.5 points.
Last year, the championship was held in Zaragoza, with the Vital Zuzenak Foundation as champions. This year, thanks to the initiative of Sportxperience SC, Vilobí d'Onyar will be the host, with the hope that the Catalan team can triumph at home against rivals such as Madrid, the Valencian Community, Adapta/Bilbao BSR, and Zuzenak.
Sportxperience SC, specializing in sports event management, strongly supports adapted sports and inclusion. They have collaborated on the XVII Catalan Games for Adapted Sports and the Besalú Open Wheelchair Hockey 2x2, among other initiatives.
The organization's close ties with BCR are strengthened by Laia Planella, a founding partner and coach for wheelchair basketball teams, as well as the Catalan selector. Her experience, along with the participation of notable local players, adds value to the initiative.
The organization, in collaboration with the Vilobí d'Onyar City Council, MIFAS, and the FCEDF, has the main objective of filling the pavilion to bring wheelchair basketball closer to the public and offer players a memorable experience.
All matches can be followed live through the Tupuedes.tv channel. The championship is organized by the Higher Sports Council (CSD) and the Spanish Federation of Sports for People with Physical Disabilities (FEDDF), with the support of Caixabank, the Catalan Federation of Sports for People with Physical Disabilities, Sportxperience SC, and the Vilobí d'Onyar City Council.
