Writer and associative activist Lola Capdevila has published an opinion column arguing that the scarcity of resources in basic areas is a problem of political and social prioritization, particularly in the Gràcia district.

In her column, Capdevila, known for her participation in entities such as Tradicionàrius and the Consell de Dones de Gràcia, questions what she calls the “justifying mantra” of resource scarcity. She argues that this lack is particularly noticeable in fundamental services for citizens, such as healthcare, education, and housing.

"It is certain that resources are lacking, but I believe what is truly lacking is the prioritization of the resources we already have."

The author contrasts this situation with the capacity to invest large sums in other fields, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI). She points out that, at the other end of the priority scale, there are closed or underutilized public spaces while hundreds of people are forced to survive on the streets.
Capdevila focuses on the role of civil society, stating that the Gràcia neighborhood is one of the areas in the city with the most associationalism and cooperativism. In her view, without this volunteer network, the capacity to respond to local needs would be null, limited only to complaint. Finally, she congratulated the media outlet L'Independent de Gràcia on its 25th anniversary.
