The Sagrada Família completed the placement of the four horizontal arms of the cross crowning the Jesus Christ Tower in Barcelona today, January 14, 2026, marking a major construction milestone.

The installation of the fourth and final horizontal arm was completed today, following the placement of the third arm a few days ago and the lower arms weeks earlier. These components adhere to the complex double-twist geometry that Antoni Gaudí designed for the temple's columns and crosses.
Each arm piece weighs approximately 12.8 tons and measures 4.40 m x 4.50 m x 4.50 m. The final cross will reach a height of 17 meters and a width of 13.5 meters. White glazed ceramic and glass were utilized, chosen for their atmospheric resistance and inherent brilliance.

To achieve the desired lighting effect, spotlights are planned for installation on the towers of the Evangelists and the Apostles to illuminate the terminal. Furthermore, the sculpture of the Agnus Dei, created by Italian artist Andrea Mastrovito, will be placed inside the cross, adhering to the original project by the Modernist master.
