This initiative, which aims to bring the liturgical meaning of these dates closer to the public, will take place on March 29, 30, and 31. The spectacle, based on the texts of the late bishop Antoni Vadell, will be projected twice each night, at 9:00 PM and 9:30 PM, lasting 25 minutes per session with narration alternating between Catalan and Spanish. Admission is free for all attendees.
Beyond the visual spectacle, the Basilica will host traditional liturgical celebrations. On Palm Sunday, March 29, Monsignor Javier Vilanova, auxiliary bishop of Barcelona, will preside over the blessing of palms and the Eucharist. Tickets for this event can be collected between March 24 and 27 at the pastoral secretariat.
On Maundy Thursday, April 2, Monsignor David Abadías, also an auxiliary bishop, will officiate the Lord's Supper. The following day, Good Friday, April 3, the commemoration of the Lord's Passion will be held, followed by a Stations of the Cross in front of the Passion Façade, also presided over by Mons. David Abadías. The Easter Vigil will be celebrated on Holy Saturday, April 4, with Mons. Javier Vilanova, and on Easter Sunday, April 5, the rector of the Basilica, Fr. Josep Maria Turull, will preside over an international mass. All these celebrations will be streamed online.
Additionally, the Sagrada Familia organized a family workshop from March 21 to April 6, aimed at children aged 6 to 12, which combined a dynamic visit with a chocolate workshop inspired by the Passion Façade, thanks to the collaboration of chocolatier Lluc Crusellas. However, tickets for this activity are already sold out.
