The stage presentation took place this Tuesday in Monaco, emphasizing the race's role as a tool for tourist and sports promotion. Enric Adell, President of Turisme Diputació, and the mayors of the involved municipalities attended the international event.
The 171-kilometer stage is expected to be flat, favoring sprinters, though it includes one third-category climb, the Alt de Paüls. The finish line in Roquetes will be located on Pare Romanyà street, marking the culmination of the only stage traversing Catalan lands.
“"This is historic news; it will place us in the global showcase. That day we will focus the attention of cycling fans and viewers from five continents."
Hosting La Vuelta makes Roquetes the first municipality in the Terres de l'Ebre region in the 21st century to host a start or finish of the competition. This achievement solidifies the city's position as a key destination for sports cycling and cycle tourism, following historical precedents in Tortosa, La Ràpita, and La Sénia (the last one in 1999).
