The spokesperson for the Popular Party in the Catalan Parliament, Juan Fernández, described the current location of the Drug Addiction Care and Monitoring Center (CAS) as “irresponsibility” and “negligence.” The party urges the Government of Catalonia to move the center to an alternative location.
“"They are using the La Mina neighborhood as a television set to announce millions in funding and mask the harsh reality that residents are experiencing."
In a statement, Fernández directly criticized the President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, and the Mayor of Sant Adrià, Filo Cañete. He accused them of failing to address the real problems affecting residents.
According to the PP, the current location of the CAS “normalizes high-risk behavior” and forces minors to physically coexist with drug consumption. This situation, the party argues, generates a negative impact on the environment and the perception of safety in the neighborhood.
