The investigation began following the complaint filed by the neighbor, aged 60, who resides in the same building on Carrer Bogatell. The councillor, who is the sixth deputy mayor and a member of the PSC party, subsequently appeared at the Sant Adrià police station to testify about the events.
According to the complaint, the woman was on the landing when Burgos allegedly struck her suddenly and pushed her to the ground, rendering her mobile phone unusable. Furthermore, the neighbor claims that, after the incident, the councillor allegedly caused damage to her apartment door, breaking the lock by hitting it, necessitating calling a locksmith.
The complainant has provided a medical report confirming the injuries sustained and claims to have received new threats the following day when they crossed paths on the stairs. A Mossos patrol was dispatched to the building on Monday to gather testimonies and summoned the councillor to declare two days later.
Sources from the Sant Adrià de Besòs City Council indicated that the consistory will not issue any public statement until the case reaches trial, although they trust in a swift resolution. The municipal government noted that, despite this being a private matter, they will try to promote a space for mediation between the two parties if possible.
In addition to his political work, Francisco Burgos is known for his sporting past, having been part of the Olympic taekwondo team at the Barcelona 1992 Games. He currently manages the areas of Sports, Knowledge Society, and Human Resources.
