Marking World Mental Health Day, a collaborative mural was created in Sant Adrià de Besòs to visualize the importance of social bonds and support networks for emotional well-being.

In observance of World Mental Health Day, the Mental Health Commission organized an activity to visualize connections with the environment through a cork mural, themed “Weaving bonds is doing mental health”. The event involved attaching threads of different colors, assigned to age groups (18-30, 31-45, 45-64, +65), between labels representing key social groups.
The represented social groups included family, friends, partners, work/study colleagues, neighbors, leisure and sports groups, associations, local shops and bars, social and health services, among others. Each participant identified their significant bonds and support networks.
As a token of appreciation, participants received red 7-knot bracelets, symbolizing protection and spirituality. The activity was managed by the pre-employment service of Badalona Capaç, with collaboration from Accés and Situa't of the Consorci del Barri de la Mina. Informative material, including an infographic on the importance of bonds, was also distributed.
The initiative saw high participation from young people, middle-aged individuals, and seniors. Attendees positively reviewed the dynamic, describing it as understandable and fun, and expressed delight in receiving the bracelet. Many highlighted the importance of recognizing how various environments and relationships act as lifelines for overcoming challenges.
