The municipalities of Sant Adrià de Besòs and Montgat joined the Grup TERSA shareholding in 2025, securing the supply of 6.6 million kWh of public renewable energy.

Grup TERSA, the public company specializing in environmental services management and circular economy, formalized the alliance with the municipalities of Sant Adrià de Besòs and Montgat during the last quarter of 2025. This accession allows both councils to access 100% renewable energy supplied by Barcelona Energia and benefit from specialized energy efficiency services.
This incorporation involves the addition of 254 public supply points to Barcelona Energia, of which 179 correspond to Sant Adrià de Besòs and 75 to Montgat. In total, 6,629,705 kWh of clean energy will be supplied, preventing the emission of 676.23 tons of CO₂, contributing directly to climate change mitigation.
With these new additions, Grup TERSA now includes 14 metropolitan councils in its shareholding, in addition to the Barcelona City Council. This expansion consolidates the company's public service vocation and reinforces its commitment to promoting efficiency and energy transition projects in the territory.
The incorporations of Sant Adrià de Besòs and Montgat join those made in previous years, including Pallejà, Santa Coloma de Cervelló, and Torrelles de Llobregat (2024); Santa Coloma de Gramenet, el Papiol, Castellbisbal, Barberà del Vallès, Esplugues de Llobregat, and Sant Just Desvern (2023); and Sant Boi de Llobregat, Sant Feliu de Llobregat, and Sant Vicenç dels Horts (2022).
