The historic center of Bagà will transform into a medieval town from October 9 to 17 with the celebration of the Festes de la Baronia de Pinós, which this year include an escape room and an experts' conference.

The town of Bagà is preparing to host a new autumn edition of the Festes de la Baronia de Pinós, which will take place on October 9, 10, 11, 12, and 17. The event, which last year already moved its traditional July date to avoid high temperatures, is consolidating its autumn slot to take advantage of the unbeatable setting offered by the old town.
The mayor of Bagà, Lluís Casas, highlighted that the date change has been "a success," as it allows for an extension of the tourist season and transforms the old town into a "lively medieval village." For his part, the president of the Associació Medieval de Bagà, Josep Ureña, emphasized that the initiative combines "culture and leisure in an act of recovering our roots and reinforcing our identity," thanking the collaboration of all involved entities and individuals.
This year's program features an inaugural address by historian Albert Rumbo. Visitors can enjoy the traditional medieval encampment at the Vila bridge, parades, the Barony Market with a display of crafts and traditional trades, historical reenactments with battles and combat exhibitions, and musical entertainment by local groups such as Músicabaganesa, Els Músics del Castell, and Les Canyetes de la Foradada. There will also be medieval cuisine tastings and a gastronomic contest.
One of the notable novelties of this edition is the premiere of the escape room "El misteri del Rescat" (The Mystery of the Rescue), designed for all ages, where participants must overcome challenges through the streets of the old town. Additionally, the Cau de les Bruixes de Galigan (Witches' Lair of Galigan) will be located in Plaça de la Verdura and Plaça de la Fanxona, offering thematic workshops on witchcraft and esotericism.
As part of the cultural and research aspect, the 1st Conference: Medieval Baronies and Lordships will be held on Saturday, October 17, at the Palau dels Pinós. It will feature presentations by historians such as Marc Llamas, Marta Sánchez Soler, Joan Busoms Cabanas, and Coral Cuadrada Majó, who will address topics like the construction of medieval domains and the role of female baronies. The conference will include a lunch, a guided tour, and the presentation of the book 'La Creu Bizantina de Bagà i la Primera Croada' (The Byzantine Cross of Bagà and the First Crusade), by Jordi Teixidó, at the Sant Esteve church.
