An emergency call made to the Mossos d'Esquadra regarding a flood in a Berga home on December 17, 2025, unexpectedly led officers to discover an illegal marijuana plantation.

The latest incident took place on December 17, 2025, when officers responded to a water leak alert at a residence in Berga. Upon entering the property, police found a cannabis cultivation setup, leading to the immediate arrest of those responsible.
This case follows a series of successful anti-drug operations carried out in the Berguedà region during the autumn of 2025. On October 23, another man was arrested in Berga in possession of two kilograms of cocaine and a separate cannabis plantation.

Security forces have maintained constant pressure on drug cultivation and distribution networks, with several high-volume interventions in the region.

Among the most notable interventions, on October 10, 2025, the Mossos seized 86 kilograms of marijuana at a residence in Gironella. Furthermore, on September 3, an individual was jailed for carrying 35 kilograms of marijuana buds in his car trunk, also in Berga.
