The Mossos d'Esquadra identified 51 individuals last Sunday at the Central Térmica de Cercs for organizing and participating in illegal, unregulated fights, following a tip-off from a witness.

The events took place on Sunday, February 1, at noon inside the abandoned Cercs Thermal Plant. When Mossos d'Esquadra officers arrived, alerted by a witness, the competition had already concluded.
Nevertheless, the police found a large group of people carrying combat gear, many of whom showed clear signs of having fought, with injuries to their faces or limbs. A fighting ring had been set up at the scene, and advertisements were still hanging on the walls, indicating the event was recorded for distribution.

"A fact like this had never happened in the town."

The Mossos have opened proceedings and handed the case over to the Court, warning of the danger of these bare-knuckle fights without clear rules, which can cause serious or lethal injuries. Furthermore, the police are investigating the possible organization of illegal betting surrounding this activity, which resembles Street Fighter style combat.
