The director of the Catalan Traffic Service, Ramon Lamiel, contacted the Mayor of Cercs, Urbici Malagarriga, to acknowledge the serious road safety problem on the C-16 black spots and promise rapid intervention.

The letters sent by the Mayor of Cercs, Urbici Malagarriga, to the Generalitat and the Catalan Traffic Service have received an institutional response. This action follows recent serious accidents that have turned the Eix del Llobregat section passing through the town into one of the most critical stretches.
The specific points that will be studied for action are kilometers 101 and 106.9, located north and south of the urban center of Cercs. The director of Traffic, Ramon Lamiel, has acknowledged the existence of a serious problem and has committed to studying measures quickly.
Although solutions have not yet been defined, one option being considered for kilometer 101 could be reducing the stretch to a single lane, as this is currently where a double lane ends in one direction of travel. The Cercs City Council had proposed minor adjustments, such as extending the separating guardrail by 200 meters, new signage, and anti-slip asphalt.

"Satisfied with the response, but until I see it done, I won't fully believe it."

This institutional pressure is added to the initiative of the Comuns parliamentary group, which has presented a resolution proposal to the Parliament of Catalonia demanding urgent actions to improve road safety on the C-16 highway.
