The couple, originally from Mallorca, lost both their children following the serious traffic accident that took place at the end of last year. The younger child, aged four, died hours after the crash, while his five-year-old brother recently died in the hospital where he had been admitted.

The accident occurred on December 29 at around nine in the evening on the C-16 road, near kilometer 101, close to the town of Cercs (Berguedà).

The vehicle, a rental car carrying the family from Mallorca, collided head-on with another car carrying a single occupant. All five people involved in the collision suffered very serious injuries.

The injured minors were urgently transferred to Parc Taulí in Sabadell and the Vall d'Hebron hospital in Barcelona. The parents, who also suffered serious injuries, were treated at Sant Joan de Déu in Manresa and Mútua de Terrassa. The Mossos d'Esquadra launched an investigation to determine the causes of the crash.
