The transport company ALSA has urged the Generalitat de Catalunya to prioritize the express bus project between Berga, Manresa, and Barcelona to avoid future service shortages in the region.

The company's management has joined local commuters in demanding better connectivity. Valeriano Díaz, ALSA director for the Mediterranean area, stated that the new service is essential once the Government budgets are approved. The goal is to establish ten daily express trips, as there is no train alternative in the Berguedà region.

"New service proposals must stay ahead of existing demand. Otherwise, we could soon face a new collapse and service incidents."

Starting in mid-April, the Generalitat will introduce six new daily trips in each direction between Berga and Barcelona. This agreement allows ALSA to hire more drivers and invest in new vehicles to meet the growing needs of the local population.
