The Berga City Council will approve this week an investment of 98,536 euros to install a definitive synthetic floor in the old pavilion, with the project expected to commence in early 2026.

The project involves replacing the current surface with a definitive synthetic floor, costing a total of 98,536 euros. Of this amount, 59,541 euros will be financed through the sectoral program of the Diputació de Barcelona for the renovation of municipal sports facilities.
The initial approval of the project will be debated in the municipal plenary session this Thursday, fulfilling one of the key agreements reached with Junts per Berga to secure the approval of the 2025 budget. However, the tender process has been delayed until early 2026.

"The project tender will arrive later than we would have liked. The technical staff available is limited and there were other priority projects."

Ivan Sànchez · Mayor of Berga (CUP)
The renovation is a long-standing demand from local sports clubs (including basketball, handball, volleyball, and skating). The previous temporary synthetic floor, which was frequently removed for cultural events, had become unstable, making a definitive replacement necessary to guarantee safe practice.
