The event was part of the cycle «Rescatem la Memòria, Recuperem la Dignitat» (Rescuing Memory, Recovering Dignity) and featured speeches by Oriol Falguera, president of Fundació Reeixida, and Aleix Renyé, a journalist, writer, and former political refugee. The musical accompaniment was provided by Guim Tuson on guitar.
In his speech, Oriol Falguera reviewed Massaguer's trajectory, noting that the militant from Berga was arrested in 1980, accused of belonging to the Exèrcit Popular Català (EPOCA), and sentenced to 36 years in prison. He obtained definitive freedom in 1993, after the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg determined a possible violation of fundamental rights during his trial.
“"25 years after his death, we are here to link roots, pride, and memory."
Aleix Renyé, a fellow militant of Massaguer, shared anecdotes and defined the activist as «a force of nature, both physically and mentally, and a person with conviction and personality». Renyé emphasized the importance of popular mobilization and confessed that he attended his companion's funeral clandestinely in 2000.
“"The people who were part of this clandestine structure knew that we were giving our lives for Catalonia, which meant giving up everything: family, studies..."
