The Berguedà Regional Council approved a 23 million euro budget for 2026 this Wednesday, prioritizing the renovation of the Sant Francesc convent.

The budget represents a 4% increase and allocates funds for the architectural project of the convent's second floor. This move aims to unify the Council and the Development Agency under one roof by 2027.

"The idea is to have the project ready in the first half of the year, and we do not rule out starting works before the end of 2026."

Other key investments include 100,000 euros for social housing and 80,000 euros for industrial park signage. The administration will also hire three new architects to support local municipalities.
