The Minister of Economy, Alícia Romero, has unveiled the 2026 budget proposal for the Generalitat, allocating 12.3 million euros to the Berguedà region.

This represents a 45% increase compared to the 2023 budget. The primary investment focuses on the C-16 highway, where over 2 million euros will be spent in 2026 to start the construction of a third lane with a mobile barrier and a new elevated roundabout at the entrance of Berga.
The government also plans to invest 1.5 million euros in a reversible hydroelectric plant at la Baells reservoir. This project depends on a local referendum scheduled for March 28th in the villages of Vilada and la Nou.
Additional funds are designated for the Olvan industrial estate, the Sagàs bypass, and equipment upgrades for the Berga Hospital and local schools. The budget currently has the support of PSC and Comuns, but still awaits ERC's approval.
