A mountain climber died this Wednesday while climbing on Pedraforca mountain, in the Berguedà region, after rescue teams found his body in the Canal Roja area.

The search began late Tuesday night at 21:34 after the man failed to return from his afternoon climb. Catalan Firefighters deployed ten units, including mountain rescue specialists (GRAE) and canine units, to search the north face of the peak.
Rescuers found tracks in the snow and climbing gear during the night, eventually leading them to the victim's body. The Mossos d'Esquadra police force has opened an investigation into the incident, while SEM medical services provided psychological support.
