A trial will begin next Wednesday at the Barcelona Court against a man accused of attempting to kill another person in Berga on September 24, 2024.

According to the prosecution, the defendant argued with the victim before stealing a set of five knives from a nearby supermarket. He then tracked down the victim at Passeig de la Pau and stabbed him multiple times from behind, causing severe lung and nerve damage.
The attack was stopped by Mossos d'Esquadra officers who were nearby. The victim spent two days in intensive care. Prosecutors are seeking a 12-year sentence for attempted murder and a fine for the stolen goods.
