The skier from Berga, Ot Ferrer, secured sixth place in the sprint event of the Ski Mountaineering World Cup held at the Boí Taüll station on Saturday, just ahead of the Olympic Games.

The competition at Boí Taüll was affected by strong winds, forcing the organizers to postpone the start of the events until noon. Despite the challenges, the 700-meter circuit was successfully prepared for the sprint race thanks to the hard work of the organization and volunteers.
Ot Ferrer showed great consistency, advancing through the first round, the quarter-finals (where he finished second in his heat), and the semi-finals, ultimately qualifying for the final where he finished sixth with a time of 3:30.9.
In the same race, the Catalan Oriol Cardona won a valuable silver medal, only narrowly beaten by the Frenchman Thibault Anselmet in a tight finish. This performance strengthens his bid for a podium finish at the upcoming Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo Olympic Games.
Meanwhile, Maria Costa, from Santpedor, had less luck in the women's category. She finished third in her quarter-final heat and was eliminated, as only the top two advanced to the semi-finals. The women's event was won by the French skier Emily Harrop.
