An expedition of 14 members from the association, comprising five women and nine men, traveled to Turkey on August 1st. After two days of acclimatization between the two base camps, the ascent began on August 5th, reaching the summit the following day. The complete descent was made on August 7th, concluding five days on the mountain.
This achievement adds to the association's previous ascents of other emblematic peaks: Mount Kilimanjaro (5,900 meters), Iliniza South (5,200 meters), and the base camp of Mount Chimborazo (5,500 meters).
In parallel, the Lleure Montornès Excursionist Association has organized its traditional annual climb to the Castell de Sant Miquel (Saint Michael's Castle), which will take place on Saturday, September 19th. This activity, part of the local festival, will start at 10 AM from Plaça de Pau Picasso and will feature a 6 km circular route with a 280-meter elevation gain.
Registration for the climb to Castell de Sant Miquel is free and can be done by calling 609 185 088 or via email.
