More than a hundred students marched this Wednesday, February 11, through the streets of Berga to demand improvements in the educational system and advocate for public and democratic schools.

The educational strike day in Berga featured a strong student presence. The student union of IES Guillem de Berguedà led a mobilization through the center of the Berguedà capital to ensure young voices were heard by the administration.

"We demand a public, critical, inclusive, and democratic education that does not discriminate by social class, origin, gender, or abilities."

The march, which included students from Secondary Education and Vocational Training, was closely monitored by the police. Officers forced a shortcut in the planned route toward Pla de l'Alemany due to a lack of authorization, ending the protest at Plaça de Sant Pere.
This action is part of the general educational strike called this February 11 across Catalonia. Key demands include salary increases, lower classroom ratios, and more resources for inclusive schooling.
