This Sunday, Puig-reig is holding a popular consultation to decide on the location of the telecommunications antenna in the Cal Sastre de la Costa area, prompted by the Projecte Antena platform.

The participation day will take place this Sunday, May 17, from 9 am to 7 pm at La Sala, in plaça Nova. All registered citizens over 18 years of age are called to vote on the controversial antenna installed for months.
The question posed to voters is: "Do you want a new location to be sought for the antenna in Cal Sastre de la Costa, and for these proposals to be consulted with the population?". The Projecte Antena platform, initiator of the consultation, has campaigned for a 'yes' on social media, advocating for the need to explore alternatives and questioning the current location, which they believe does not cover the entire municipal area.
The debate over the antenna has generated strong political division within the council. The opposition party, Amb Tu Fem Puig-reig (ERC), has campaigned for a 'yes' and criticized the government (Junts) for the lack of promotion of the consultation. The mayor, Eva Serra, has described the question as "a bit confusing" and emphasized that the consultation is non-binding, although the result will be analyzed.
From the opposition, it has been criticized that the polling stations are only located at La Sala, forcing residents of scattered hamlets to travel. Amb Tu Fem Puig-reig has clarified that a 'yes' vote will not lead to the immediate dismantling of the antenna, but rather to the study of possible better locations agreed upon with the residents.
