The Puig-reig Town Council and local heritage groups have started a crowdfunding campaign to restore four 19th-century stained glass windows at Sant Josep church in the Cal Pons industrial colony.

The campaign, titled Fragments de llum, seeks to raise 42,500 euros from citizens and local businesses. The church, a neogothic masterpiece built in 1887, is known as the Cathedral of Alt Llobregat. The windows are currently in poor condition due to aging lead and environmental damage.

"It is impossible for a small Town Council like ours to face such a large expense."

Eva Serra · Mayor of Puig-reig
This community effort complements a Generalitat grant of 40,000 euros for five other windows and 100,000 euros for urgent roof repairs. Experts who have worked on Gaudí's buildings will lead the restoration to bring back the original colorful splendor of the temple.
