The Catalan Meteorological Service recorded wind gusts exceeding 160 km/h in the high peaks of Berguedà and the Pyrenees this Sunday, accompanied by freezing temperatures.

The northern windstorm hit the Santuari de Queralt particularly hard, with peak gusts of 161.6 km/h. Other significant records include 124.6 km/h at Port del Comte and 117.7 km/h in Guardiola de Berguedà, creating hazardous conditions across the territory.
Temperatures have plummeted alongside the rising winds. At Rasos de Peguera, the thermometer dropped to -4.3 degrees Celsius, while Gisclareny recorded -2.7 degrees. The wind chill factor has made the cold feel significantly more intense for residents.
Civil Protection sent an ES-Alert to mobile phones in Berguedà, Alt Empordà, Ripollès, and Cerdanya on Saturday. Authorities are advising the public to avoid outdoor activities and stay informed through official weather channels.
