The Mossos d'Esquadra police force has detained two men, aged 27 and 28, in the Berguedà region for allegedly committing seven thefts and bank fraud against elderly victims.

The investigation revealed that the suspects targeted vulnerable people in towns such as Gironella, Avià, and Puig-reig. They would stop their vehicle to ask for directions, and while the victim was distracted, they would steal bags from cars or walkers.
The criminals used stolen cards to withdraw cash, sometimes exceeding 1,000 euros. Police tracked a rental car used in the crimes, which led to arrests in Manresa and Cornellà de Llobregat in early March. The two men have a combined record of 28 previous arrests.
