This accomplishment represents a significant success for the promising grassroots alpine skier, who showcased her talent in one of the most recognized international competitions in the discipline. Only Russia's Anna Goloviznina surpassed the young Catalan, with a margin of 35 hundredths of a second.
The battle for second place was intense, with Ballús narrowly beating Italy's Teresa Frandino by just 4 thousandths of a second. This result highlights the high competitiveness and standard of the event.
Gina Ballús is a member of CANM Cerdanya, one of the 89 European clubs that participated in the Uovo d'Oro Lauretana last weekend. Most participants were from Italy, but there was also representation from countries such as Spain, France, Switzerland, Andorra, and Slovenia.
Following the competition's tradition, all participants received the classic chocolate egg at the end of the races, a symbolic element that characterizes this sporting event.
