The Puig-reig City Council has approved the fiscal ordinances for 2027, which include a freeze on tax rates and updates to fees, as well as various budget modifications for infrastructure and municipal service investments.

The Puig-reig Municipal Council, meeting on October 29, 2026, approved the fiscal ordinances for 2027. The governing team has decided to keep tax rates frozen for all municipal taxes and update most fees with a general increase of 4%, in line with Catalonia's year-on-year CPI. Among the new measures, a fee for the public electric vehicle charging service is introduced, priced at €0.30/kWh for the first 3 hours and an additional hourly charge thereafter. The waste collection fee will rise by 2%, and specific per-square-meter rates for bar terraces and street stalls will be incorporated. Water and sewage tariffs remain frozen.
A budget modification of €1,201,703.23, funded by treasury surplus, was also approved. These funds will be allocated to the conservation of the Cal Pons paintings, lighting and fencing of the athletics track, paving of the exterior space of the Cal Riera civic center, improvements to the youth space, repair of damage from the Merlès flood, expansion of works at the pavilion and football field changing rooms, street paving, and an increase in the budget for culture, commerce, and festivals.
The plenary also greenlit the maintenance project for the road from Puig-reig to Viver i Serrateix (budget of €46,553.34) and unanimously approved the tender for a new project for the municipal football field changing rooms, with an updated budget of €991,436. Additionally, a new direct tender for the municipal building cleaning service was approved after the Generalitat's framework agreement process was left without bids.
Other agreements include an Extrajudicial Recognition of Credits amounting to €33,432.37, the recognition of work compatibility for a municipal employee, approval of the expense justification for the municipal group 'Amb tu fem Puig-reig – Acord Municipal (ERC – AM)', and adherence to the manifesto for the Millenary of the Assemblies of Peace and Truce.
In departmental updates, 37 proposals were submitted for the first participatory budgets. Two official housing units at Cal Marçal have been finalized, the mobility budget for young students has been exhausted, €432,000 has been received from the Barcelona Provincial Council's General Investment Plan for various works, and the assembly of a new children's park in La Riera is set to begin. The upcoming Sant Martí Fair and various cultural and youth activities were also announced.
During the Q&A session, the opposition congratulated the new 'pubilla' (Catalan regional representative) of Catalonia, Núria Saez, and requested an expedited parade of giants, as well as the submission of pending information regarding the Templar Festival, the athletics track, and the New Year's Eve celebration.
