The Puig-reig Town Council has announced the date for the public consultation regarding the location of the mobile phone antenna at Cal Sastre de la Costa, an initiative driven by the Projecte Antena platform.
The vote will take place on Sunday, May 17, from 9 AM to 7 PM. This decision comes after Mayor Eva Serra signed the decree of convocation last week, responding to citizen demand.
Do you want a new location to be sought for the Cal Sastre de la Costa antenna, and for these proposals to be consulted with the population?
This consultation is the result of pressure from the Projecte Antena platform, which has opposed the installation of the infrastructure in its current location from the outset. The neighborhood movement managed to collect the necessary signatures to force the municipal government to call this participatory event, despite the antenna having been operational in the Cal Sastre de la Costa area for months.

"A government has the obligation to make decisions, and we opted for coverage with the installation of the antenna. Now we choose to hold the consultation for transparency and because the law obliges us to. We govern, but we have an obligation to listen."
Mayor Serra has acknowledged that the municipal government has not yet defined how it will act based on the consultation's outcome. She emphasized that, although the vote is not binding, 'hypothetical result scenarios will be evaluated,' indicating that the council will study the implications of the citizen's decision once the results are known.
