Around 500 people, including guests and staff, were preventively evacuated from an aparthotel in Alp (Cerdanya) on Thursday morning, after a small fire broke out in the kitchen of one apartment.

The alert for the incident was received at 7:13 a.m., when the fire started in the kitchen of a unit located on the second floor of the building, which has three floors and about forty rooms. The affected establishment is located in Plaça Pista Llarga in Alp, in the La Molina area.
Due to the emergency, the safety protocol was activated, leading to the evacuation of the five hundred people inside. At the time of the evacuation, the outside temperature was -1.3ºC, according to data from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).

The Medical Emergency System (SEM) attended to one person at the scene, although the fire was quickly extinguished without causing serious injuries.
