The Minister of Culture, Sònia Hernández, presented the project for the future Cerdanya Regional Archive this Wednesday in Puigcerdà, which is expected to be operational by 2028.

The project represents a total investment of 4.3 million euros, fully funded by the Government of Catalonia. The Puigcerdà Town Council has provided a 1,413-square-meter plot on Torreons Avenue for the new building and will be responsible for its future maintenance.
Construction is scheduled to begin this September. This new facility will replace the current headquarters at the old Sant Domènec convent, which has housed the regional documents since 1989 but currently faces significant space limitations.
