The film «Femení, singular», directed by Xavi Puebla, has won the award for Best Feature Film at the 17th edition of the Cerdanya Film Festival. The jury highlighted the quality of the work, which is part of a diverse selection of genres and cinematic perspectives.
Short films played a significant role, with three works selected for the Goya Awards: «Ningú Borda» by Júlia Coldwell (Best Spanish Fiction Short Film), «BOBs» by Júlia Marcó (Best Spanish Animation Short Film), and «La diva, mi abuela y yo» by Inés G. Aparicio (Best Spanish Documentary Short Film). These shorts receive cash prizes, as do «Femení, singular» and «Parasomnia» by Daniel Noblom, awarded the Trinxat Prize for Cerdanya Terror/Fantasy.
The festival also recognized other productions with awards such as the Social Vision Award, the Audience Award for Feature Film, Curtmiratges for Best Short Film by a Young Director, the Audience Award for International Short Film, the award for Best Film in Catalan, Emerging Talent-First Work, the Sustainable Pyrenees Award, and Best Historical Memory Documentary, in addition to technical awards for industry professionals.
Despite the official closing, the Cerdanya Film Festival's programming continues until August 30th at the Casino d’Alp. The organization expects to conclude the edition with approximately 8,000 attendees. Among the remaining screenings are titles such as «Los Cangrejos», «La sombra del nogal», «Confiança cega», «Lady Everest», the premieres «El coro de Praga» and «Un hombre de verdad», and a selection of the most requested films.
The program also includes a screening of the original soundtrack (BSO) concert «El màgic d’Oz», performed by the Camerata Barcelona, on August 20th at the Casino d’Alp, offering an acoustic interpretation of the classic film's music.
