The exhibition, open since last August 8th, allows visitors to discover the geological diversity of the region and its surroundings. The collection includes minerals such as sulfides, carbonates, and oxides, and adds to the museum's existing focus on the Iberian, Roman, and medieval past of Cerdanya.
As explained by Júlia Molina, the cultural technician for the facility, work is underway to improve the presentation, including the installation of LEDs, labeling, and expanding a map that shows the origin points of the minerals.
The facility, inaugurated in 2015, has consolidated its cultural offering in the area, attracting over a thousand visitors this summer. Interest has been evenly split between the geological site and Sant Climent de Talltorta, with an average of five guided tours per day.
To encourage family participation, workshops on ceramics, theater, archaeology, and mosaics have been organized during the Saturdays in August.
