The Tour de France passing through Cerdanya this Monday will create a sharp contrast between mobility restrictions in the south and festive celebrations in Upper Cerdanya.

The cycling competition will force the closure of major roads, including the N-260 and N-152, between 12:45 PM and 5:45 PM. During this time, traffic will be completely restricted, with emergency protocols coordinated by the Mossos d'Esquadra to ensure access to the Cerdanya Hospital.
Economic activity will also be affected, particularly in the Sant Marc industrial estate, which will be isolated for several hours. However, the coincidence with a day of low commercial activity in Puigcerdà may mitigate the impact on local businesses.
On the other side of the border, the mood is one of collective celebration. Municipalities such as Ur, Angostrina-Vilanova de les Escaldes, Targasona, and Èguet have organized activities ranging from popular barbecues to giant screens and contests, cementing the race as an event of national pride.
