A container caught fire early this Monday morning in Puigcerdà. The alert was received at 6:01 AM on Avinguda Pons i Gasch, where the bin was burning from the inside.
This situation complicated the extinction efforts by the Generalitat Firefighters, who dispatched a single crew.
To facilitate access to the heart of the fire, firefighters had to open the container with a cutting saw. This allowed them to reach the interior and extinguish the fire before it affected other nearby containers.
